Far too many years ago a little monkey was born with a very sugary
spoon in her mouth. There she is just down there. A wee me, on that
most wondrous of school days, Picture Day, no doubt saying "cookies."
When
I wasn't busy running amuck, tripping over my feet, I would play
in the kitchen, creating treats such as Rice Crispee Tartar, volcanos
with caramel lava and make yummy treats for friends on their birthdays.
I was even so bold as to attempt to make a croque en bouche
for a 7th grade French project.
Try as I might throughout the years to replace that sugar-laden
spoon with a camera, or a paintbrush, by getting a BFA from SUNY
Purchase; as well as a MS in Education, some snappy big-girl outfits,
and a stick or two of chalk, I kept going right back to working
with all things sugarythe draw was just too strong. In 2006
I graduated from the Institute
of Culinary Education, and worked alongside of Michael
Laiskonis at Le
Bernardin.
Out of this lifelong dance with baking came sugarliciousny.
I take great pride in being able to offer you yummy, tongue pleasing
treats. It's my hope that you can feel the love in every bite.
Happy nibbling,
Merin Frazier
